Pisac is one of the towns you will encounter on your way through the Sacred Valley. Its ruins are surrounded by the breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains and extend between the highlands and the Amazon Jungle. It is intriguing to observe the craftsmanship of the masonry that the Inca used to build their towns. Extensive terracing marks the Pisac ruins which are set among patterned fields. Steps and aqueducts are carved from stone to complete the complex, which includes the impressive Sun Temple.
The Pisac markets are also a big draw to this city. You can find every type of handcrafted goods made by the natives. You just can’t leave there without picking up a unique and authentic souvenir to take home with you. Hop on a bus in Cusco and take a 45 minute ride for a day of site seeing and shopping all in one trip. For access to the Pisac ruins you can purchase “boleto turistico” in the town of Cusco.
