1,500 miles along the Pacific Ocean, in western South America, is one of the world’s most beautiful countries, Peru. This multi-diverse country is divided into three sections. The Andes Mountains are what separate these three zones. First you have the coastline, which is to the west. This beautiful, arid zone extends 50 to 100 miles (80 to 160 km) inland. The mountain area lies in the central zone, with its peaks topping off at 20,000 ft. (6,096 m) and dipping into its lush valleys and plateaus. Beyond the mountainous terrain lay the dense forests which lead to the Amazonian plains.
